I’d like to endorse Jerry DiTullio’s candidacy for Colorado State Treasurer. Jerry has built an impressive record of public achievement as a former mayor, as Jefferson County Treasurer, as a municipal treasurer and city council member.
He has demonstrated the competencies needed to safely manage the state’s money, protect the public trust, and oversee the state’s treasury operations to the benefit of state government and Colorado taxpayers. More importantly, Jerry would bring a breadth of knowledge and life experience to the job. His entrepreneurial pursuits as a software developer and small business owner, as well as being a personal banker, have afforded him a keen understanding of the challenges facing business, particularly small business. But it says something altogether different about a person when he has served his community and our young people as a special education teacher, working with those who face greater challenges to live fuller lives.
Taken together, it all says something about Jerry’s capacity for service, his empathy, his competence, and his values. It says something about the leadership qualities needed to serve in elective office today, and Jerry has them.
